End of Summer ~ Back to School

Ok Everyone , it is the end of summer and the kids are heading back to school. Here are a few helpful hints to start the school year!

Make sure you look out for children making their way to the bus stops when backing out of your driveways. Different schools pick up at different times so make sure you watch for all ages.

Watch for School Zones... The Speed Limit is 25 and the fines for speeding in a school zone can run up to $500. Not to mention points on your license, court costs etc.

Make sure you label everything with your childs name. It may save you having to replace it.

If your child has a laptop, invest in a computer lock so when they are in the library studying and have to run to the bathroom, make a copy etc... their computer is secure.

Allow extra time for homework and assignments as kids can become overwhelmed with the start of the school year and get stressed. Taking extra time in a non-stressful environment can be all they need to calm down and relax.

Remember, you also need to get to know your teacher. They have to set the bar at the beginning of the year so if your child is a little grumpy with all the rules, it will get better with time. If not make sure you and the teacher have a nice friendly talk.

And...remember they went back to school so that we would stay out of the insane asyluum's.
